Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty 1800S Ox Pack Saddle Glass Table 36"D X 27.5"H

This is an unusual antique Chinese ox pack saddle table from the Qing Dynasty (c. 1850). It is topped with heavy glass 3/8" thick by 36" diameter. It is made of solid Chinese Yumu elm wood. The clear lacquer finish sets off the wood grain nicely. This would have originally been used as a pack saddle for an ox carrying merchandise and good from farm or artisan to market. 

This armoire has been carefully refinished, it remains in fine antique condition and should serve one well for another century of use. The wardrobe measures about 78" tall by 45" wide by 22" deep. A great piece of Chinese history and an interesting and very solid and functional piece of furniture.
