This is an antique Japanese Meiji Era (c. 1890's) all hand painted sake cup (Guinomi or Sakazuki) used specifically for drinking sake.  This cup was fired in a wood burning kiln at high temperatures for lasting durability. It has a stylized thatched house design.

It measures 2" in across by 1 3/4" tall (5 x 4.5 cm). This cup remains in fine condition with no chips or hairlines. A perfect size for enjoying hot sake, cold sake or other fine drinks!  Two cups were available at the time of listing.
