Antique Japanese Edo Era (18th C) Warehouse Door Forged Iron & Sugi 76"H
This is a Japanese warehouse door from the mid Edo era (c.1700's). It is made of solid Sugi wood (Japanese Cedar) wood with forged iron fittings. It would have once been used as the entry to a large stone family warehouse. The top section is latticed to allow ventilation into the warehouse. To one side is a locking mechanism that secured the warehouse.
With exception to minor signs of past use, minor water stains, and an aged patina, this very complete warehouse door remains in overall very good condition.
