Antique Japanese Silver Medal Badge Pendant

This is a vintage (c.1959) Japanese medal (pendant) to commemorate the marriage of the Heisei Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko when they were crowned prince Akihito and Princess Michiko. The material is probably copper with a silver wash. On the front is a waist up bust of the two with the empirical chrysanthemum family crest at the top. On the reverse are two cranes in flight above a rising sun (both symbols of Japan). There is a loop and ring at the top for adding a chain.

 Measures 1 1/4 " in diameter (3 cm) and remains overall in very fine condition with minor oxidation.
