Vintage Japanese mid-late Showa c1960's Large Red Ceramic Hibachi 16”

This is a vintage Japanese mid to late Showa era ceramic hibachi with a deep rich red glaze akin to the Chinese ox blood glaze. Traditionally in Japan a hibachi is considered an enclosure for fire, usually hot coals sitting on a bed of ash used to help heat small spaces, lite a pipe or warm water for tea. It is formed with an elegant under turn edge. 

Minor surface scratches and scuff to be expected from a vintage items. No chips or cracks. 

A great container for displaying plants and flowers.
