Tea Ceremony Chawan Tea Bowl Green & Red

This is a ceramic bowl known as a chawan (tea bowl) used in a Japanese chado (tea ceremony). Suitable more for the summer season, it’s thin walls allow the tea to cool faster during the hot summer months. It has  a subtle green and red glaze with a light brushing of whit opaque white glaze dots around it.

This chawan measures 4.5" wide at its widest by 3" tall.

Having been in storage for 70 years it remains in fine condition.
