Sumitsubo 

Small wooden pot to hold ink.

Used to mark long, straight lines on wood. 

Insert string line through the sumitsubo, the line absorbs the ink and is then used to mark a straight ink line.  This sumitsubo does not have the winding handle on the wheel.
