Vintage Japanese Orin Bronze Singing Bowl Buddhist Alter Meditation Zazen 4"

This is a Japanese mid Showa Era (c. 1940) bronze Orin (singing bowl). This style of bowl is favored by Japanese Buddhist sects for is low mellow tone. Often used to begin and end meditation sessions or when praying at the family alter. This vase measures 4" in diameter and stands 2 3/4" tall (5 x 7 cm). With exception to some signs of use with scratches and minor chipping to surface black, this bronze remains in good condition.
