Antique (c. 1890) Japanese Kashizara Dish Plate Wood Red Lacquer Makie 7"
This is an antique (c. 1890) Meiji era Japanese lacquer kashizara plate. This is all hand turned cryptomeria wood with over 20 thin coats of Japanese red lacquer with makie (raised gold) art work (see picture 5). This plate has been stored in its original storage box (see last picture - box is not included).
Having been in storage for over a century, with exception to very minor signs of past use (see picture , this kashizara plate remains in good polish and in very good condition. It measures 7" in diameter by 1" tall (17.5 x 2.5 cm). 15 identical kashizara plates will be seen in future sailerking listings or can be made available upon request.
Please note: This listing is for one kashizara plate. The box and other plates seen in picture 11 are NOT included. The two cups seen in the first picture are not included with this listing.
