Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty C1890 Red & Black Bent Wood Lidded Container 15"

This is an antique Chinese Qing dynasty (c. 1890) food container. It is probably made of bent bamboo and wood with both paint and lacquer in red and black. There are designs of leaves and flowers in gold. This is built to be very stout and sturdy.

Having been put to good use well over a hundred years ago but in storage for much of the past 100 years, it has some signs of wear, this lidded container remains in fair condition. It measures 15 1/2" in diameter by 10" tall with lid (39.5 x 25.5 cm).
