Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty C1890 Red & Black Lidded Container Bamboo/Wood

This is an antique Chinese Qing dynasty (c. 1890) food container. It is made of bamboo and wood with both paint and lacquer in red, black and green. This is built of sturdy construction using cloth to strengthen the joints.

Having been put to good use well over a hundred years ago but in storage for much of the past 100 years, it has some signs of wear at the seams (see pictures 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11), this lidded container remains in  fair condition. It measures 14 1/2" in diameter by 12" tall with lid (37 x 30.5 cm).
