Antique Japanese 1800's Tokkuri Sake Jug Calligraphy Vase 10"

This is an antique Japanese large sake jug from the 19th century. This one is about 10.5" tall and glazed with very decorative calligraphy. This type of sake jug was one of the first recyclables in that it could be returned to the sake company that made it and be refilled. It is all hand made and fired at high temperatures for lasting durability. 

This large ceramic sake jug measures approx. 5" in diameter by 10.5" tall (12.5 x 26.5 cm) and remains very good condition. It weighs about 3 pounds. It is high fire glazed both inside and out. Great as a stand alone piece of art with calligraphy.
