This exquisite piece of 100 year old antique Japanese indigo fabric features a central hanabishi mon (family crest) with arabesque surround created using the traditional tsutsugaki dyeing technique. Tsutsugaki involves hand-drawing patterns with a resist paste, resulting in these intricate and vivid designs. The fabric showcases a central crest and arabesque design all rendered in beautiful indigo hues.

The Kamon or family crest shown is the Nine Leaved Bamboo mon, Maru ni Kumai Sasa. This crest was used by the Takenaka clan during the Edo period.

Perfect for collectors of Japanese textiles or those seeking a unique decorative piece, this fabric embodies the artistry and cultural heritage of Japan.
