Antique Japanese Bronze Candle Holder Statue Crane & Turtle (Tsuru & Kame)

This is an antique late Meiji era (c.1900) Japanese bronze candle holder in shape of crane bird and turtle (tsuru and kame) The candle holder in the crane's beak can be removed (see pictures 1 & 2). Together the crane and tortoise symbolize longevity, immortality, peace, and endurance.

This candle holder statue measures about 5" wide by 3" deep by 12" tall (12.5 x 7.5 x 30.3 cm) . Other than an aged patine, some minor oxidation and a repair on the leg (see picture 10), it remains in very good condition.
