Antique Japanese (C. 1800) Lidded Ceramic Akai Imari Bowl Pheonix & Waves 4"

This is an antique Japanese mid Meiji Era (c. 1880's) lidded ceramic Imari bowl made of a high fire ceramic for lasting durability. It is all hand painted with flowers, vines, clouds and waves with a phoenix in flight over open water in multi color (akaimari) Imari.

Please view the closeup pictures to admire the finely painted details and workmanship of this lidded Imari bowl. The bowl measures 5" in diameter by 3 1/2" tall with the lid (12.5 x 9 cm). The lids measures 5 1/4" in diameter by 1" tall (13.5 x 2.5 cm). With exception of two minor rim chips, on one lid and one on the bowl, these lidded bowls remains in very good condition.
