Antique Japanese (C. 1920) Tin Lined Bamboo Basket Charcoal Caddy Tea Ceremony

This is a late Taisho era (c. 1920) tin lined bamboo basket. This basket was used as a charcoal caddy for tea ceremony. Very intricately made with tsutsu dake (aged bamboo).
It has been in storage for a century and remains in very good condition. It measures 9" square by 5 1/2" tall (22.8 x 22.8 x 14 cm) and 10 1/2" tall with handle (26.5 cm).
