Antique Japanese C. 1930 Hand Painted Porcelain Rose Canton Style Bowl Sakura
This is an antique Famille Rose Canton style Japanese (c. 1930's) porcelain bowl. This bowl was inspired by the Chinese style of Famille Rose Canton, but is made in Japan. The bowl has a intricately hand painted design in the style of rose canton, featuring blossoms, pheasants, and butterflies. This bowl was made with high fired ceramics for lasting durability. The bowl has scalloped edges meant to evoke the Sakura (cherry blossom). On the bottom of the bowl, it said Japanese Porcelain Ware. This bowl measures 6" in diameter by 2 3/4" tall (15 x 7 cm). Having been in storage for nearly a century, it remains in fine condition.
