Antique Japanese (C1890) Signed Tokkuri Sake Jug Sake Bottle (Vase) 4.5"
This is an antique Japanese small sake jugfrom the Meiji Era (c. 1890). This one is 4.5" tall and covered with very decorative calligraphy. This type of sake jug was one of the first recyclables in that it could be returned to the sake company that made it and be refilled. It is all hand made and fired at high temperatures for lasting durability. It has the name of the sake company.
This ceramic jug measures about 2.5" in diameter by 4.5." tall (6.5 x 11 cm) it remains invery good condition. It is high fire glazed both inside and out. Great as a stand alone piece of art with calligraphy or for use as a vase with more than a century of history. It weighs aboutlbs.
