This is an antique late Meiji Era (c.1900) Japanese Imari ceramic plate with a transfer print design of three Japanese crested cranes walking the shorline. The Crane is a symbol of longevity and fidelity in Japan. This dish has a brown scalloped edge typical of a popular production design of the late Meiji era.

It measures 8 1/2" in diameter by 1 1/4" tall (21.5 x 3 cm). Having been in storage for over 100 years, with the exception of some minor production flaws it remains in fine condition. A great size for serving something very special.
