Antique Japanese C1920 Hand Painted Tea Cup & Saucer Set Floral Motif

This is an antique Japanese Taisho era (c. 1920) hand painted tea cup and saucer. It is painted with a floral design in blue, yellow and red with gilding on the saucer rim and cup handle. This tea cup and saucer are made with high fired ceramics for lasting durability. As many pieces such as this did not survive WWII undamaged this is a rare find. 

The tea cup measures 3" in diameter by 2" tall (7.5 x 5 cm) saucer is 4 3/4" in diameter by 3/4" tall (12 x 2 cm). Having been well cared for and carefully displayed in a Sendai home for most of the past 100 years this set remains in very fine condition.
