Antique Japanese 5 Drawer Haribako Tansu Mullberry Wood 14"

This is an antique Taisho era (c 1920's) kyodai (vanity tansu chest) with a unique arrangement of five drawers. Made of the finest mulberry wood drawer faces and keyaki casing. Makes for a great jewelry case or desk organizer.

This chest has been well used yet well loved, and it remains, with exception of limited past signs of use and some minor restoration, in fine condition. It measures 12.75" wide by 10.25" high by 7 3/4" deep.  A very solidly built, great piece of Japanese history; and also makes a great vanity, jewelry box or a classic desk top organizer today.
