This is an antique Japanese late Edo Era (c. 1800-1860) all hand painted sake cup (Guinomi or Sakazuki) used specifically for drinking sake. This cup was fired in a wood burning kiln at high temperatures for lasting durability. It has a stylized floral and garden design in akai-imari (multi-color imari).
It measures 1 7/8" in across by 1 3/4" tall (4.75 x 4.5 cm). This cup remains in fine condition with no chips or hairlines. A perfect size for enjoying hot sake, cold sake or other fine drinks! Five cups were available at the time of listing.
