Antique Japanese Edo/Meiji Era (1800-1912) Hakari Tenbin Balance 6.5lbs 4.5"

This is an antique Japanese balance scale (hakari) weight dating to the late Edo to Meiji Era (1800-1912). It has Japanese writing on one side. It is bell shaped with a lanyard ring at the top to adjust up and down a pole scale. Decorated with an Phoenix motif.

Diameter = 3 3/8" (8.5cm)

Weight = 6lb 9.5oz

With exception to some blemishes and oxidation it has a nice aged patina, it remains in very good functional condition.
