Description
Large and finely carved kashigata (菓子型) confectionery mold used for shaping wagashi sweets. The design features a detailed tai (sea bream) with bold scales, fins, and expressive eye. In Japan, tai is an auspicious fish, its name echoing the word “medetai” (auspicious, joyful). Such imagery is traditionally associated with good fortune, prosperity, and celebration, especially for weddings and New Year.
