Antique Japanese Kitchen Tansu Meiji Era c1880's Keyaki & Sugi Tansu Chest 68"H

This is a beauty with a natural wood finish. This mid Meiji era c1880's Mizuya or kitchen tansu has all the original five drawers and two cabinets behind sliding doors. The whole chest is divided into two sections making it very versatile. The highly figured wood grain of the drawer fronts is done in Keyaki burl wood - Japanese Elm (Zelkova). The case and interior is all Sugi - Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria). Hand forged iron and copper hardware.
