A finely carved pair of antique Japanese menuki depicting lively Noh or Kyōgen dancers, created in shakudō alloy with copper details and gold accents. The figures are rendered in dynamic motion with expressive faces, flowing garments, and detailed engraved patterns. Gold highlights on the clothing and hair bring depth and animation to the design, and the warm copper faces add a traditional contrasting element typical of late Edo craftsmanship.
The backs retain their original mounting plates and show natural Edo-period oxidation with traces of old lacquer from tsuka placement. No signatures visible. A well-executed and characterful pair suitable for collectors, mounting, or display.
