This haribako has mulberry burls wood face with amazing grain and paulownia (kiri) wood drawer interiors with keyaki top and sides. Great skill was used in the workmanship in this chest. It is made with all wooden pin and dovetail construction with beaded wooden surrounds on all drawers.
This chest has been well used yet well loved, with the exception of a few minor signs of past use, it remains in very fine condition throughout. All drawers run smoothly top lidded section swings open and closed with ease. Very solidly built, a great piece of Japanese history and makes a great jewelry box or a classic desk top organizer today.
