Antique Japanese Samurai Warrior Shogun Doll Wooden Gofun Face Full Armor

This is an antique Japanese mid Meiji Era (c. 1890's) Samurai warrior Shogun doll done in a soft sculpture with silk kimonos over a firm base. He has a wooden head and gofun (crushed oyster shell) finished face along with carved wooden hands. He has a samurai sword which can be removed from the sheath as well as a long war ax. . The full set of armor is very realistically detailed.

Having been in storage for over 100 years, with the exception of minor signs of past use, he remains in very good condition. He measures about 9" tall by 4" wide (23 x 10 cm) .
