Antique Japanese Signed Hand Crafted Ceramic Calligraphy Brush Holder

This is an antique Japanese mid Showa Era (c. 1939) hand crafted ceramic brush holder for Japanese calligraphy (sumie). It has the name of the Japanese artist as well as a date on the bottom (see picture

This brush holder measures 4 1/2" long by 2 1/2" tall and 1" thick (11.5 x 6 x 5 cm). With exception of ink stains and minor signs of past, it remains in very good condition.
