Antique Japanese Signed Hand Thrown Ikebana Tokkuri Vase

This is a vintage Japanese kabin (vase) used in Japanese ikeban (flower arranging). It is also a good shape to use as a tokuri to pour sake. It is a simple elegant style with a waisted top that flutes out. Glazed both inside and out it would make a fine vase for a formal or informal flower display.

This vase was hand thrown, hand painted, and high fired for lasting durability. It has the signature stamp of the Japanese artist on the bottom (see picture 11).

This vase measures 13 1/4" tall by 5" across at the bottom (34 x 13 cm). Having been in storage for over 90 years, with the exception of a few repaired chips in the top rim (see pictures 6, 7, & 8) it remains in good condition. Holds water just fine.
