Antique Japanese Taisho Era C1900 Nakashima Ware Plate Geisha Spring Hanami 6"

This is an antique Japanese Taisho Era (c. 1900) kutani ceramic plate all printed in gold, red, pink and black. Kutani Ware is a pottery produced in the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture and it has a history of over 350 years. It is characterized by the heavy brilliance of the five colors of green, yellow, red, purple, and navy blue that are applied to the bold and daring lines. Its long history has evolved through the tireless efforts and enthusiasm of people who have sought innovation while maintaining tradition.

The plate is made with high fired ceramics for lasting durability. 

Thisplate measures 6" in diameter by 1" tall (15x 2.5 cm). Having been in storage for most of the past century this plate remains in very fine condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines.
