ANTIQUE MEIJI ERA (c1880) JAPANESE BRONZE/SILVER & BAMBOO KISERU Smoke Pipe 7"

This is an antique Japanese kiseru (煙管) from the mid Meiji Era (c. 1880).  It has a silver and wood mouth piece and bronze bowl with bamboo center. It is quite elegant and compact and still has a nice draw.  The reed stalk  covered in black lacquer, along with centuries old patina, this kiseru has a good draw and is still very functional.  

This 140 plus year old antique kiseru measures 7" (17.5 cm) long. It has been well used, yet well loved. This kiseru remains in very good (functional) condition.  A nice, compact, very functional antique kiseru.
