Cloisonné Enamel Meiping Vase / Jingtailan / Gold Ground Floral and Butterfly 

China, late Qing–early Republic, 19th–early 20th century

A meiping-form cloisonné vase on a warm yellow-gold ground filled with a fine repeating cloud scroll pattern, decorated with large lotus and chrysanthemum blooms in pink and lavender with green foliage, and a polychrome butterfly in flight. The neck carries a heart-and-scroll border in blue and white; the foot is gilt-edged. The overall effect is rich and densely worked.
