A matched pair of baluster-form cloisonné vases on a black ground with a fine brass allover repeating pattern, each decorated with blue birds in flight amid large pink chrysanthemum and peony blooms with green foliage. The foot carries a blue rock or wave motif; the neck border alternates red and green on black. The pair is well-matched in decoration and proportion.
