China, late Qing–early Republic, 19th–early 20th century
A matched pair of baluster-form cloisonné vases on a white ground filled with a fine repeating cloud scroll pattern, each decorated with large pink peony blooms and green foliage with scattered blue floral accents. Pointed leaf forms in blue rise from the gilt foot; the neck carries a teal ground with gold scrolling border. Gilt brass rims at lip and foot. The two vases are closely matched in composition and color.
