Japanese Bronze Koro Incense Burner W/ Foo Dog & Elephant Ring Handles 5"

This is a Japanese bronze Koro or Incense burner. This koro is elaborately decorated with a pair of scenes featuring Chinese intellectuals. Either side is flanked with a pair of elephant handles holding rings reddish lid is crowned with a shi-shi (foo dog) over a cloud transom to let the smoke through. A beautiful eye-catching statement piece.

it stands 5" tall and 5" wide with the handles and 4" front to back ( 12.5 x 12.5 x 10cm). Other than an aged patina, some minor oxidation it remains in very good condition.
