Japanese Clear Dark Wood Grain Lacquer Tea Costers Chataku For Senchado 3.5"

This is a set of five Japanese lacquer coasters or tea cup trays called chataku that are hand turned from sugi (cryptomeria) wood with over twenty layers of dark clear lacquer. Japanese lacquer is considered the finest in the world.Each chataku is pictured above so the unique wood grain in each can be appreciated in close up.

They are all in Fine conditioning and in good polish. Each coaster measures 3 1/2" (9cm) in diameter and 1/4" (1 cm) tall.
