Japanese Hibachi Signed & Dated 1939 Ceramic Imari Hibachi Brazier Pot Planter 11"

This is a Japanese ceramic hibachi decorated all over in colorful enamel with floral & butterfly motif. Traditionally in Japan a hibachi is considered an enclosure for fire, usually hot coals sitting on a bed of ash used to help heat small spaces, lite a pipe or warm water for tea.

A great container for displaying plants and flowers.
