A handmade chawan in the kuro fuki shino (黒吹き鎬削り) tradition of Mino ware, the carved ridged exterior covered in a warm iron-brown Bizen style glaze deepening to tenmoku black, with a natural green ash accent drip on the shoulder. The interior is glazed in deep black. The organic, slightly irregular form and hand-carved surface reflect the wabi aesthetic central to Japanese tea ceremony. Made in Japan. New, unused.
