Meiji Era Ceramic BW Tokkuri Sake Bottle 9”

This is an antique Japanese large sake jug from the late Meiji Era (c. 1890). This one is 9" tall and glazed on two sides with a mountain and water landscape . This type of sake jug was one of the first recyclables in that it could be returned to the sake company that made it and be refilled. It is all hand made and fired at high temperatures for lasting durability. 

It remains in good condition It is high fire glazed both inside and out. Great as a stand alone piece of art with calligraphy. It weighs almost 8 lbs.
