Military Usgi M56 Small Arms Ammunition Mag Pouch Vietnam War Issue
This is an M56 Vietnam era small arms universal ammo pouch that was used by the US Military after 1956. These pouches were widely used for M-14 mags. The pouch is meant to be worn on the military issue pistol belt, with soldiers carrying two of these pouches. Magazines are secured by a flap that has a metal clasp, that a strap is then woven through. There are straps on both sides of the pouch for attaching and carrying hand grenades as well. On the back are ALICE clips for carrying the pouch and a strap for connecting the pouch to worn suspenders, for additional support of the load.
It measures 5 1/2" high by4" wide and 2" deep. With the exception of some minor noticeable wear around the corners (see enlarged pictures) it remains in good condition. All snaps, clasps and Alice clips are in good working condition.
