Original Japanese Woodblock Print: By Toyokuni Iii 1830'S Kabuki Actor

This is an original Japanese Edo era (c. 1830) guaranteed original Ukiyo-e (woodblock print) by the Japanese artist Toyokuni III, aka Kunisada Tsunoda (1786 – 1864) of the Utagawa school. Depicting a Kabuki actor. The government censor stamp indicates that this was a pre-1842 publication / printing, likely 1820's or 1830's.

This is the standard Oban size and it measures roughly 10" wide by 14 1/2" tall (25 x 37 cm). The print is framed in glass 15.5" x 19.5". With the exception of minor tears at the edges and foxing this print remains in good antique condition.
