This is a unique pair of matching Japanese Meiji era (c. 1890's) ornate Cloisonné vases. Featuring a mirrored scene of cherry blossoms in bloom with a tiny sparrow flying in to perch on them. The base of each has what looks to be red and purple peony flowers.
They stand 9" high and 2.5 "in diameter.
Made of copper, copper alloys and vitreous glass enamel.
Having been carefully displayed for nearly five decades since acquired by a dedicated local collector, it remains in fine condition.
