Set Of Four (4) Vintage Japanese Lidded Bowls Gold & Cherry Blossoms 4.5"

This is a set of four vintage Japanese gold and black lacquered and gilded lidded bowls.They are decorated in a vibrant lustrous gold with a cherry blossom motif. that were hand turned from cryptomeria wood with over twenty layers of black and red lacquer. Presumed to not be made of wood but some kind of resin. Marked "Hand Crafted - Otagiri Original Japan"

Having been in storage for many decades, with exception to signs of limited use and a couple chips in the lacquer they remain in good condition and in good polish. These bowls measure about 4 1/2" in diameter by 3 1/2" tall with lid (11.5 x 9 cm). These would make a great bowl for miso, appetizers, treats and snacks.
