Signed Tea Ceremony Chawan Tea Bowl w/ Gold Clouds & Multicolored Hills

This is a ceramic bowl known as a chawan (tea bowl) used in a Japanese chado (tea ceremony). With genial doling hills and golden clouds reminiscent of the Heian era. Suitable more for the summer season, it’s thin walls allow the tea to cool faster during the hot summer months. It has lovely colorful wash glazes embellished with hazy soft gold. 

This chawan measures 5" wide at its widest by 3" tall.

Having been in storage for 70 years it remains in fine condition.
