Tea Ceremony Chawan Korean Style Tea Bowl w/ Spout

This is a ceramic bowl known as a chawan (tea bowl) used in a Japanese chado (tea ceremony). Suitable more for the summer season, I t’s thin walls allow the tea to cool faster during the hot summer months. It is crafted in the Korean style and is bent into a spout. 

This chawan measures 5 1/2" wide at its widest by 2" tall. There is a tiny gap in the rim that has been filed down for safe drinking.

Having been in storage for 70 years it remains in fine condition.
