This is a ceramic bowl known as a chawan (tea bowl) used in a Japanese chado (tea ceremony). It dates to the Taisho Era. Suitable more for the summer season it’s thin walls allow the tea to cool faster during the hot summer months. It has a deep clear signature  of the potter.

This chawan measures 5 1/2" wide at its widest by 3" tall.

Having been in storage for 70 years it remains in fine condition.
