Vintage Japanese c1940’s Teapot Hand Painted Maple Leaf & Bird 7”

This vintage teapot by Chugai China, made in occupied Japan is adorned with intricate hand-painted details, including a bird much like the Japanese bush warbler (uguisu) and maple leaves (momiji).

The lid adorned with a black and gold trim, reminiscent of traditional Japanese lacquerware (urushi), adds a touch of sophistication and cultural richness. The curved handle and spout showcase Japanese craftsmanship, making this teapot both functional and decorative.
