Vintage Chinese brass statue of the great Han Dynasty General Guan Yu. He is revered as a symbol of loyalty, righteousness, and bravery in Chinese culture and is worshipped as a deity in Taoism and Chinese folk religion.

Guan Yu, also known as Guan Gong or Guan Di, was a legendary Chinese general and a key figure in the historical novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms." He lived during the late Eastern Han dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period (220–280 AD). Guan Yu was known for his loyalty, righteousness, and martial prowess. He served under the warlord Liu Bei and played a significant role in the establishment of the state of Shu Han. Guan Yu is often depicted as having a long, black beard and wielding a guandao (a type of polearm).
