Hand-thrown Japanese chawan (matcha tea bowl) with a strong wabi-sabi character, featuring a dark, textured glaze with a pronounced vertical ash drip across the body.
The form is compact and well-balanced with a slightly flared rim and stable foot. The surface shows layered tones of deep charcoal, brown, and olive, with natural variation from the firing process. The vertical glaze run creates a focal point and gives the piece a sense of movement and individuality.
Interior is finished in a darker glaze, contrasting with the exterior surface and highlighting the bowl’s depth when in use.
No signature or box. In good condition with no cracks or chips observed.
A highly usable tea bowl with strong visual presence, suitable for daily matcha practice or display.
